MultiChoice Nigeria has officially announced that the 2025 edition of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) will premiere on Saturday, July 26, with a double launch weekend continuing on Sunday, July 27.
This season promises higher stakes, fresh twists, and the biggest prize in the show’s history.
During a press briefing held on Wednesday, the organisers revealed that the winner of BBNaija 2025 will walk away with a whopping ₦150 million — the largest grand prize since the reality show debuted in 2006.
Ebuka Obi-Uchendu returns once again as the host, continuing his long-running reign as the face of the franchise.
At the event, Ebuka shared insights into the show’s legacy. Since its inception, BBNaija has introduced audiences to 197 housemates across nine seasons, aired for 709 cumulative days, and distributed over ₦637 million in prize money and sponsorships.
Looking back at the 2024 edition, themed ‘No Loose Guard’, contestants were introduced in pairs and later unpaired to compete individually. The season concluded with Kellyrae emerging victorious, claiming the ₦100 million grand prize and making history as the first married housemate to win the show.
Ahead of the new season, physical auditions were reintroduced and held from May 16 to 18, stirring excitement among fans eager to see fresh talent enter Biggie’s house.
