Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall reunites with Enzo Maresca at Chelsea

Chelsea Football Club have announced the signing of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City on a permanent deal ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Kieran Dewsbury-Hall signed a five-year deal with Chelsea which will keep him at Stamford Bridge until the 2029 summer transfer window.The Blues announced the arrival of the player on its official website on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

The 25-year-old also reunite with his former manager Enzo Maresca, who also moved from the King Power Stadium to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Who is Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall?

The midfielder joined Leicester’s youth team in 2006. His fantastic form saw him progress through the ranks and made his first team debut for the Foxes in the FA Cup third round in January 2020.

He went on loan to Blackpool and Luton Town followed before he became a permanent member of Leicester’s squad for the 2021/22 season. He was part of the Leicester team that got relegated during the 2022/23 season.

He has already made 59 Premier League appearances in his career to date, scoring three goals and assisting four times.

Dewsbury-Hall was influential in helping Leicester emerge as EFL Championship last season and he was named in the Championship Team of the Season and earned the Leicester men’s Player of the Season award. The Englishman joins the elite group of players who have moved to Chelsea from Leicester, including Wesley Fofana, N’golo Kante and Ben Chilwell.

What did Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall say about his move to Chelsea?

The 25-year-old expressed his excitement on the club’s website, according to him it was a dream come through to play for Chelsea.

He said,

“It is amazing to be sitting here as a Chelsea player. This is a club people grow up watching and hoping to one day play for, so it is a privilege to be here. I am really excited to get going and can’t wait to show everybody what I can do.”.

Chelsea paid £30 million for the Englishman.
