Nigerian musician Portable narrowly avoided deportation from the United States recently, after a song containing critical lyrics almost landed him in hot water.
Details remain scarce, but Portable himself took to social media to explain the situation. “They almost deported me,” he revealed, though he didn’t specify which individual the song targeted. Portable emphasized, “It’s just business and nothing personal,” suggesting the lyrics were part of an industry feud.
Facing deportation, Portable resorted to a dramatic plea. “I had to go down on my knees and beg,” he confessed. This public apology seems to have done the trick, as Portable remains free to travel.
