Here are 5 must-watch COLORS performances by Nigerian artists. Which of them is your favourite?

Nigerian music and Nigerian artists have risen to global prominence, especially in recent years. They have taken this excellence across the border to the Colors platform.

COLORSxStudios is a German music performance initiative that aims to introduce and showcase emerging artists’ talents. They usually make use of a minimalist aesthetic and videos to showcase these underground talents.

Since they began this movement in 2016, COLORSxStudios has acquired over five million subscribers on their platform. They have hosted artists from all over the globe, including Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Jorja Smith, and more.

Now we dive into our list of Nigerian artists’ 7 best COLORS show performances.

1. Ku Lo Sa – Oxlade

Oxlade delivers a stellar live performance of his song, Ku Lo Sa. His stage presence brings this song to life in a way that is impossible to pin down. His falsetto makes this song more enjoyable than its studio version.

2. Attention – Tiwa Savage

Tiwa Savage is not called the queen for nothing. The versatile artist can put up a performance like no other, and she brings the heat to her appearance on the COLORS show. Tina sings a hauntingly beautiful rendition of her song, Attention.

3. Ase -Ayra Starr

Ayra Starr proved she belongs on the big stage with her captivating performance of Ase. Produced by London and featured on her 19 & Dangerous (Deluxe) album, Ase is a groovy anthem where Ayra boldly challenges societal hypocrisy.

4. Many Man – Victony

On Many Man, Nigerian singer and songwriter Victony pours his heart out over a soulful melody produced by Ktizo. A survivor of a life-changing accident, Victony gets emotional as he reflects on his ‘second leg,’ a metaphor for the second chance God gave him. He also touches on themes of humanity and trust.

5. Bad Commando – Rema

The future, Rema! He gives an enthusiastic, powerful performance of his earlier song, Bad Commando. It is so easy to see how his success was inevitable. His presence fills the room, and the crooning melody of the song is delightful.

6. Hell and Back – Fireboy DML

In 2024, following the release of his fourth studio album Adedamola, Fireboy DML delivered a stunning performance of ‘Hell and Back’ on COLORS. Produced by Nxrth, ForeignGotem, and South, Hell and Back is an emotional song about heartbreak and an ex seeking another chance.

7. In My Mind – BNXN

Produced by BlaiseBeats, In My Mind by BNXN is a soulful melody showcased on the COLORS show in 2022. The song is featured on his Bad Since ’97 project, which was released on August 24, 2022.
