Best Goalkeeper at AFCON so far

Jesús Owono has been crowned the Best Goalkeeper in the group stage of AFCON 2023 by CAF and the reason behind this has not been far-fetched. The 22-year-old has proven to be a solid rock in goal for his country side Equatorial Guinea who finished top of Group A in the tournament.

Jesús Owono has also been responsible for one of the numerous goals scored by his country at AFCON as he has also provided an assist on the pitch. Whilst describing why he has such an amazing reflex as well as a top distribution skill which is being sought after in the modern game of football, Owono revealed that he has had no prior training to harnes the skills he possesses today. He said, “I had never been classically trained and in a way that probably helped me. I had no time to think so I acted on instinct.”

Of course it’s Jesús Owono! 🧤
