Despite the criticisms, Davido’s verse on Twe Twe could just be his most intelligently crafted verse in a while.

The Nigerian superstar, Davido, has been in the spotlight recently for daring to admit to employing the services of songwriters on his project, for which he boldly gives credit to these pen masters. His verse on the remix of Kizz Daniel’s latest hit single, Twe Twe, is currently being attacked on X (formerly Twitter) by music heads and fans who claim his verse is below standard and carries no message.

Below is Davido’s verse on the Twe Twe remix by Kizz Daniel, featuring Davido.

Verse 2: Davido
Isakaba (Baddest)
Give me your bakasi oh
Your body looking like tsunami
Explosive, hiroshima, nagasaki
Plenty omoge don make me miscalculate
Don make me over dey pay
Don make me dey misbehave
With the way them twe twe twe twe
Fit to make a man go keke na pe pe pe
Egbami oh Jesu
They be feeling the boy like oleku
Osondi owendi oh di oh di oh di oh
Oya, see the way her body

Check out the full Twe Twe (Remix) Lyrics by Kizz Daniel Ft Davido.

In this article, we will be looking to share a breakdown of Davido’s verse on the lyrics by attempting to connect the dots between his lines to shine a light on the hidden message behind his melodic rhymes and rhythm in the song.

Lyrics Breakdown: Davido on Twe Twe remix

Isakaba (Baddest)
Give me your bakasi oh

Background: Issakaba as we know it, is a 2001 Nollywood movie that tells the real-life story of the community vigilante boys called Bakassi Boys who were fighting against crimes like armed robbery and murder cases that put fear and panic in the community.

Actual Meaning: In Twe Twe, Davido links Isakaba to the Bakasi (which in this case is street slang for girls’ big booties). Davido is simply asking for some of that big butt.

Your body looking like tsunami
Explosive, hiroshima, nagasaki

Background: A tsunami is simply a series of waves in a water body caused by an earthquake, volcanic eruptions, or other underwater explosions above or below water. Hiroshima and Nagasaki are cities in Japan. Sometime in August 1945, two atomic bombs were detonated in these cities.

Meaning: Here, Davido is raining praise on the girl’s alluring body and how the body is causing him to experience a tsunami like the explosives in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.

Plenty omoge don make me miscalculate
Don make me over dey pay
Don make me dey misbehave

Background: Omoge is slang for pretty or beautiful girl.

Meaning: Here, Davido is opening up about how so many pretty girls have led him to outrageous spending.

With the way them twe twe twe twe
Fit to make a man go keke na pe pe pe

Background: Twe Twe, as used by Kizz Daniel in this record, is slang for twerk. The singer more or less shortened the pronunciation of twerk and probably repeated it on pronouncing to depict the flexibility of a lady’s body while twerking.

Meaning: Here, Davido was simply talking about how an obsession with a lady’s body can get a man into bankruptcy until he moves down to Keke Napep, otherwise known as Tricyle. For a man as wealthy as Davido, moving from flying a private jet to riding Keke Nape is a perfect description of his downfall.

Egbami oh Jesu
They be feeling the boy like oleku
Osondi owendi oh di oh di oh di oh
Oya, see the way her body

Background: Egbami is a Yoruba word for “help.” While Oleku is another Yoruba word that means “strong or indestructible,” Whereas, Osondi Owendi is a song by Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe and an Igbo phrase that translates to “one man’s meat is another man’s poison.”

Meaning: This part is Davido screaming for help from Jesus because he believes everyone thinks he is indestructible and would probably never run dry with his obsession with booty, whereas one man’s meat is another man’s poison.
