Nigerian singer and songwriter, Michael Adebayo Olayinka, widely known as Ruger, has unveiled his own record label named ‘Blown Boy Ent.’

The announcement was made through Ruger’s Instagram story on Friday, January 19, 2024. In a short video featuring a music freestyle, the artist tagged his new record label, @blownboyent, signaling the imminent release of a new single under the Blown Boy banner.

The ‘Asiwaju’ hitmaker’s Instagram bio has also been updated to reflect the label’s name. While Ruger has not officially stated his departure from his previous record label, Jonzing World, the move has generated excitement amongst fans, eager for the artist’s upcoming releases and anticipating the unique musical journey he will embark on with Blown Boy Ent.

Ruger is a fast rising singer that has produced quite a number of hit songs and continues to entertain fans with his amazing beat and voice. He rose to fame with the song “Bounce” and signed a record deal in 2021 with Jonzing World. In 2021, he released his debut EP, Pandemic.

Ruger’s chart-topping single, ‘Asiwaju’, emerges as the leader on the list of Spotify’s 2023 most streamed songs in Sub-Saharan Africa solidifying its hit status across various African regions.
