The Ghanaian Black Stars have left the African Cup of Nations(AFCON) football tournament.

The Ghanaian Black Stars had a disappointing exit from the African Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast. The football teams finished third in their group and lost to Cape Verde and Cameroon in the round of 16.

The Black Stars faced their fate last Monday when they surrendered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Mozambique in their final group game, resulting in the dismissal of Chris Hughton.

Musicians Davido and Sarkodie expressed their support for Andre Ayew following his belated apology for Ghana’s disappointing exit from the 2023 AFCON. The Black Stars captain finally offered an apology on Tuesday evening, taking responsibility for the team’s elimination. Numerous celebrities flooded the Instagram comments section to back the captain.

Ling of Afrobeat Davido commented with, “Nothing spoil baba!”, prompting Ayew’s response, “My brother, we keep going”. Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie also joined in, stating, “You love your country, and we love and appreciate you, king. We can be in our feelings because of how attached we are when we see the flag, but trust me, we are grateful for your efforts”.

Acknowledging the sentiments, Ayew responded, “Sarkodie, it’s understandable; thanks for the support”.
