Nigerian Rapper and Actor Ill Bliss speaks on his journey towards making his new album.

Tobechukwu Ejiofor, popularly known as Ill Bliss, took to social media to share the cover and track list for his new album, Sideh Kai. The anticipated release date of the album is February 24, 2024. The rapper and actor will also collaborate with Nigerian musicians like Fave, Odumodublack, Made Kuti, Teni, Vector, Cobhams Asuquo, and many others.

During his interview with Channels News, Ill Bliss mentioned that his upcoming album would mark his seventh and is his latest release since 2020. He discussed his hiatus from music to explore acting and television opportunities. When questioned about the four-year gap preceding his new album, he attributed it to the birth of his daughter and his venture into television, noting that his child was born prematurely at 25 weeks during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He said, “At some point I felt this was God saying it’s time to hang your boots. I have six albums and four EPs. I felt I had put in my quota to the music industry”. During the interview he was asked how he has been able to stay relevant from 2009 till now. He said, “The music business has changed dramatically. It’s a totally new day in the music business. The only constant thing is change. I am just blessed and privileged to always be in the middle of the change”.

The artist explains that he can adapt his sound and lyrics to align with industry trends when necessary, but he remains steadfast in preserving his essence. He affirms his identity as a rapper and expresses his commitment to maintaining that core aspect of his artistry.
