The first leg of the 2024 Olympics qualifiers fixture Cameroon vs Nigeria ended in a goalless draw on Randy Waldrum’s return to the Super Falcons of Nigeria.

In the first leg of the 2024 Olympics qualifiers, the Super Falcons of Nigeria faced off against Cameroon in what turned out to be a tense and closely fought encounter. Despite both teams having several chances to score, the match ended in a goalless draw. However, the game was not without controversy, as the referees made a questionable decision regarding the goal scored by Juventus star Jennifer Echegini in the 47th minute of the game.

The Super Falcons were on the front foot from the very first whistle of the game and would probably feel outdone by the decision of the linesman in the fixture if the return leg of the fixture which would be played at the M.K.O Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

The Super Falcons of Nigeria maintained their fine form from the World Cup 2023 under coach Randy Waldrum creating chances and dominating in all positions, the return of Ashleigh Plumptre also boosted the morale of the defense with Jennifer Echegini who was ranked one of the Best Female Footballers of 2023, adding a new edge and sharpness to the game.
