Mikel Arteta confirmed that Thomas Partey who missed AFCON 2023 for Ghana would be making his return to the squad and would be available for selection on Monday, March 4, 2024.

Arteta provided an update on the fitness status of Thomas Partey, indicating that the midfielder has completed a few training sessions with the team and could be available for selection in their upcoming match this weekend.

Partey, who joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in the summer, has had a stop-start 2023/2024 season so far, featuring in only four league games due to multiple injury setbacks. Despite this, Arsenal is keen to keep the Ghanaian at the club and hopes he can make a significant contribution in their quest for the title this season.

The club remains optimistic that he will remain fit and healthy for the remainder of the campaign. Partey missed out on the Africa Cup of Nations tournament for Ghana due to injury, but the midfielder may make his return for Arsenal in their next game against Sheffield United, who are struggling at the bottom of the table.

Obviously we need him fit. He’s a massive player for us and we want to make sure that now we load the players in the right way.”

 Zinchenko and Tomiyasu Injury Update

Arteta also provided updates that  Zinchenko and Tomiyasu could also be available for the team on Monday. He stated, “Those ones are possible but we have to wait and see, especially with the last two sessions that we have on Saturday and Sunday. If that’s the case, they might be available on Monday.”
