Grammy-winning artist, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has stirred a massive buzz on social media following his candid remarks on the practice of online giveaways.

During an Instagram live session with his multitude of fans that surfaced online on Thursday, March 21, 2024, the City Boys crooner expressed his skepticism towards engaging in such giveaways, citing his belief that they often do not reach those who truly need assistance.

In response to a fan’s request for a giveaway, Burna Boy articulated his stance, stating that he prefers to direct his charitable efforts towards places and individuals where it genuinely matters. The talented artist emphasized that the real beneficiaries of his aid are often not active on the internet, asserting, “Me I no dey follow una do Instagram giveaway o, I do giveaway to places that it really matters, to people that really need it and most of them are not on the internet, some of them no even know wetin be Instagram.”

Burna Boy’s remarks have sparked controversy and triggered discussions among fans and followers, prompting reflection on the efficacy and impact of social media-based philanthropy.
