Barcelona in an official statement have confirmed that the first team head coach Xavi Hernandez has been sacked as the La Liga season enters its final games.

In a shocking turn of events, Barcelona have confirmed that head coach and club legend Xavi has been sacked and will no longer take charge of the men’s side ahead of the 2024/2025 club football season. Although a new head coach has not been confirmed speculations as to the former Bayern Munich and Germany head coach Hans Flick taking charge of the team have continued to surface on social media.

Why did Barca sack Xavi?

Rumours and reports suggest that Barcelona decided to dismiss Xavi despite previously guaranteeing his position on the team due to an alleged loss of support from the players.

Recent reports indicate that Xavi’s influence in the team is waning, with senior players beginning to doubt his leadership and expressing frustration with his criticism of their struggle to adapt to Barcelona’s style of play.

Additionally, player agents are also discontent, with key player Robert Lewandowski feeling undervalued due to being frequently substituted during important moments in matches, leading to significant frustration for him and his representatives.
