The head coach of Spain’s national team, Luis de la Fuente has released a provisional squad for the Euro 2024 competition which will be hosted in Germany.

Spain released the official squad on the social media account of the FA on Friday, June 7, 2024, ahead of Euro 2024. He included some of the players who were influential for the clubs in the Premier League. Some of the players, including the team are Rodri, David Raya, and Marc Cucurella but there was no place for Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro and Barcelona’s Pau Cubarsi.

Barcelona teenagers, Lamine Yamal, and Fermin Lopez were included but Pablo Gavi was ruled out of the list due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury. Real Madrid’s hero in the semi-final clash against Manchester City Joselu also got himself a place in the squad.

What did Luis de la Fuente say about the squad?

“All players have the same options to be in the Euro 2024, I want to make that clear from the beginning. This larger list is to minimize risks and also cover any unforeseen events. We are protecting ourselves and covering any contingency that could arise. Yes, there is overpopulation now, but the decisions that must be made to go to the 26 of the Euro Cup will be made.”

Who are the invited players for Spain ahead of Euro 2024?

Goalkeepers: Unai Simon, Alex Remiro, David Raya.

Defenders: Jesus Navas, Dani Carvajal, Robin Le Normand, Aymeric Laporte, Nacho Fernandez, Dani Vivian, Alejandro Grimaldo, Marc Cucurella.

Midfielders: Martin Zubimendi, Rodri Hernandez, Mikel Merino, Fabian Ruiz, Pedri, Fermin Lopez, Alex Baena

Forwards: Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, Dani Olmo, Nico Williams, Ayoze Perez, Alvaro Morata, Joselu Mato, Mikel Oyarzabal
