Wolves according to official reports have beaten Chelsea’s BlueCo to complete the signing of a key transfer target in the June 2024 window.

Brazilian wunderkid, Pedro Lima will not be transferring to BlueCo’s Strasbourg a part of Chelsea’s ownership umbrella in the June 2024 transfer window.

It has been confirmed that Wolves have managed to secure a surprise last-minute deal for the young Brazilian and will be finalising a move for Pedro Lima in the Summer 2024 transfer window.

The 17-year-old right-back was expected to join Strasbourg, who are managed by Patrick Vieira and fall under Chelsea’s ownership, after prolonged negotiations with his current club Sport Recife.

However, it was announced in an official statement by Sport Recife on Monday evening that a deal had been reached with Wolves instead.

The official statement released by Sport Recife read, “Sport Club do Recife announces that it has signed a binding agreement to transfer the economic and federative rights of athlete Pedro Lima to Wolverhampton Wanderers, from England. The agreement is subject to customary conditions, including the athlete’s approval of medical examinations conducted by the English club. President Yuri Romao and the football management committee will detail the operation in a statement when all acts related to the business have been completed.”

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Lima has agreed to an initial five-year contract with Wolves, including the option of an additional 12 months.

He is set to undergo a medical on July 1, 2024, according to reports before finalizing his move to the Molineux stadium and the Premier League as a whole.

Lima’s signing appears to be a significant achievement for Wolves, who recently completed the acquisition of highly-regarded Portuguese winger Rodrigo Gomes from Braga in a deal valued at £12.7 million.
