Napoli’s new head coach Antonio Conte has opened up on the future of Victor Osimhen with the Serie A giants after numerous weeks of speculations.

When asked about the future of Victor Osimhen at Napoli in a recent interview, Antonio Conte, revealed that he is aware of the current situation of the Nigerian forward and he knows that both the club and the forward have an agreement.

He said, “I’m aware of his situation, and I know there’s an agreement with the club, so it’s a different case compared to others. There’s a pact between Victor and Napoli regarding his future, and I have accepted that.”

Osimhen has been a prolific forward for the Serie A giants Napoli as he has scored 76 goals in 133 appearances across all competitions for the club, making him one of the most sought-after strikers in world football.

The 25-year-old was the top scorer in Serie A when Napoli clinched the Scudetto in 2022-23 and was honoured with the Africa Footballer of the Year award in 2023 as well.

Reports confirm that the French champions, Paris Saint-Germain are leading the race to sign the Nigerian international, looking for a replacement for Kylian Mbappe. However, Arsenal, and Manchester United are also in contention.

Osimhen’s contract with Napoli includes a release clause reportedly around £110 million. This could make him the most expensive transfer in Italian club football history and the most expensive African footballer in history.
