Ben, the recently evicted housemate from the BBNaija season 9 has called out Big Brother on a series of topics and issues in the house.
Speaking to Netng, he said the only reason he went for the reality TV show was that Tjay brought it to his table. He described the audition process as hectic and demanding because housemates weren’t sure they were going to be on the show until the announcement from Ebuka.
However, he was surprised that Big Brother was that controlling. He disliked how they were ordered around and put on a schedule. In his words, he said, “It’s now someone I can’t even see, I just hear his voice telling me to do this and that, like why should a man be commanding another man like me at will?”
Ben also mentioned that some things were limited in use, citing the hot showers as an example. Biggie told them when to and when not to use hot water to bathe, among other things, and this didn’t go down well with Ben.
He cited the alarms as another problem he had in the BBNaija house, as he didn’t see why he should be woken up every day with raging alarms, saying they destabilized him sometimes. He told NetNg he had to open up to Chizoba that he was the one who stole the eggs for Biggie and let her in on the entire plan, without Biggie’s knowledge of their conversation.
He also told her when he was going to return the eggs, and that he made sure to tell her everything happening with him in the house. He joked that he would have made sure to leave with some extra eggs from the house if he knew the price of eggs was as ridiculous as he came out to meet them.
He apologized to Topher when questions were raised on whether he was intentionally taking Anita away from him, and maintained that his relationship with Anita was cordial and friendly.
He commended Big Brother for throwing good parties but also said he’d make sure to bring more spirits to the parties if he was in charge of throwing them.
When asked if he’d miss anything in the house, he highlighted the food and the parties, and also the joy of not having to drive home after parties like the outside world would require.
