American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs has been removed from suicide watch just two weeks after his arrest on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and kidnapping. According to reports, as of September 29, 2024, Combs is now allowed to receive visits from family members, though details about who visited him remain unclear.
The 54-year-old hip-hop mogul was initially placed on routine suicide watch after being admitted to a federal facility following his arrest on September 16, 2024. This precaution is standard for high-profile individuals entering the system.
During Diddy’s court appearance, prosecutors accused Combs of operating a criminal enterprise since at least 2008, allegedly using drugs and violence to coerce women into fulfilling his sexual desires. His legal team had submitted a $50 million bail offer to the federal court, proposing his Miami mansion, valued at $48 million, as collateral, along with his mother’s property to cover the remaining amount. However, the court denied the bail request, deeming him a flight risk.
Additionally, Diddy’s lawyers sought to have him placed under house arrest with a stipulation of “no female visitors,” but this request was also rejected by the judge.
If convicted on all counts, Combs could face a sentence ranging from 15 years to life in prison. His arrest followed federal raids on two of his properties in Los Angeles and Miami in March 2024, where authorities discovered 1,000 bottles of lubricant and three AR-15 rifles.
