If 2024 has given the music space anything, it’s given us new talents to brag about. This year, many young artists have put themselves out there for music lovers to find and appreciate their art.

Many people have shown why they’re to be seen as a force to reckon with, and new sounds have been discovered. The genre has heavily benefitted from this, as we now have diversity.

Different people are championing different sounds, and the scene is becoming more and more interesting. From the rap scene to the alternative community, the pop space to other kinds of music, a lot of soldiers have risen to lay claim to the future.

Here’s a list of young artists in the next generation that have sparked conversations in 2024

Llona

Llona feels like the gem of the year. In a year where things are tough for the average Nigerian, Llona has come out to voice that pain. His voice carries a feeling of familiarity and a tone of struggle, and he doesn’t hesitate to document that in his music.

Telling his personal stories on his debut album has captured the ears of many, and relatability is easy when it comes to him. His album Homeless has spent more than 10 weeks in the top 10 Albums on Apple Music Nigeria since its release, and one can only expect that he’d continue to rise and build.

Serotonin

Serotonin captured the hearts of many with his most recent release, May 10th. The single heavily influenced by traditional Igbo sounds represents folklore music in Nigeria.

With sultry vocals and a powerful pen, Serotonin has positioned himself as one of the stars of 2024.

Tariq

Tariq

Tariq dropped his debut EP titled Son Of The Moon in 2022 and he immediately gained the hearts of many. This year, he kicked off with a record titled Jigga featuring young superstar Khaid and then followed up with a single titled Bus Stop.

He’s announced the release of his third EP titled Okada Airlines and he has many anticipating the project. He’s one of the most promising stars of 2024 and will be one to watch out for in 2025.

Tiimie

Timiie

Timiie has been on the underground radar for a while. 2024 saw the Artist rise in fame and become a TikTok sensation with his record Broken Souls. Timiie has managed to carve out a niche sound for himself and he’s built a fanbase for himself while at it.

One of his high points in the year would be performing at Rema’s homecoming concert in Benin, and one can only imagine what the future holds for the sultry storyteller.

Chella

Chella

Not many people might know Chella, but everyone certainly knows his hit record Nyash na Nyash. The record became a viral sensation upon release and blew up on social media.

Chella dropped his EP titled Tears of a Mad Man which featured the remix to his hit record and other stellar tracks. The remix featuring Young Jonn is gaining traction and the EP provides a soft-landing platform for the artist entering into 2025.

Avy

AVY

AVY came to the attention of many with her freestyle to YouTube beats and her covers. Her pen game immediately stood out, along with her voice that sounded like a sampled piece of fresh evening air.

She dropped her debut single titled Toxic and it has been gaining ground and motion, especially in the female community. The Artist seems to be doing it differently and she’s definitely on the radar.
