Popular Chicago rapper Lil Durk has been arrested in South Florida and charged with murder-for-hire. The rapper, whose real name is Durk Banks, is currently being held without bond in Broward County Jail as he faces serious charges tied to a murder.
The federal investigation behind Lil Durk’s arrest alleges his involvement in a conspiracy charge related to a murder-for-hire plot. Police records reveal that he is awaiting transfer to U.S. Marshals’ custody, indicating federal authorities are now handling the case.
The charges stem from the 2022 murder of Saviay’a Robinson, also known as Lul Pab, the cousin of fellow rapper Quando Rondo. Authorities believe that the murder was a part of a larger operation involving individuals within the OTF collective, directly linking them to this violent act.
An indictment filed in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles lists Lil Durk and five other Chicago associates—Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston—as being charged with conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, resulting in death, and using a machine gun in a violent crime resulting in death.
Prosecutors claim that resources from Lil Durk’s collective allegedly backed this murder-for-hire scheme. Evidence reportedly includes flight bookings and car rentals purchased with a credit card linked to the OTF label, with claims that the collective offered “lucrative music opportunities” to those who could target Quando Rondo.
