Popular American rapper and founder of Chicago’s hip-hop group OTF (Only The Family), Lil Durk has been arrested.

According to reports, Lil Durk was arrested in South Florida on Friday over charges of involvement in a conspiracy to execute a kill-for-hire scheme against rapper Quando Rondo whose real name is Tyquian Terrel Bowman.

Quando Rondo is alleged to have been involved in the murder of emerging rapper King Von in Atlanta in 2020.

Sources report that following the death of Von in 2020, five rappers allegedly linked to Lil Durk’s hip-hop group OTF, had offered money and music opportunities in compensation for Rondo’s murder as retaliation for the loss of Von.

The conspiracy eventually led to the gruesome murder of Quando Rondo who was shot dead at a gas station along Beverly Boulevard in California on August 19, 2022, leaving his cousin, Saviay’a Robinson (aka Lul Pab) fatally wounded.

Durk’s co-defendants were reported to have flown to and fro California from Miami in search of Rondo, a day before the shooting took place. These were made possible with the aid of an unnamed co-defender who paid for their trips.

While the 32-year-old music artist whose real name is Durk Banks is being held without bond in Broward County Jail, according to the Sheriff’s records, the federal authorities may soon take over the case as Durk, a father of seven, best known for featuring on Drake’s 2020 track Laugh Now Cry Later, is currently awaiting transfer of custody to U.S. Marshals.

Durk’s collaboration with Drake had reportedly peaked at number two in the Billboard Hot 100 and number 4 in the UK singles chart.

Meanwhile, the five suspected rappers with alleged links to Durk’s OTF include Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey and Asa Houston.

Local reports indicate that the rapper is also involved in a separate lawsuit filed on behalf of FBG Duck’s family, following a fatal shooting which was reported outside a Gold Coast store in 2020.
