Nigerian actress Princess Chineke has embarked on a surprising new journey by enlisting in the United States Army. The former Nollywood star shared her monumental decision with fans on Instagram, posting a series of photos of herself in full military uniform. In the post, she recited the U.S. Army Soldiers’ Creed and expressed her dedication to her new role, emphasizing her commitment to serving her adopted country.
“I’m an American soldier. I’m a member of a team. We are the Army, and proud of our name. We are the Army and proudly proclaim,” she wrote, clearly moved by the significance of her oath. “I answered the call of service to my country, to serve the people of the United States. This I will defend, so help me God. God bless America. What God cannot do doesn’t exist.”
Her decision to join the military comes as a part of a broader life transition, after relocating to the U.S. to further her education and gain new skills. Prior to her move, Princess Chineke had made a name for herself in the Nigerian entertainment industry, starring in popular Nollywood films and TV shows such as Ladies Cult, Tarima, Papa Ajasco, Bola’s Place, Echoes, Heroes and Zeroes, Rebound, and Cut in the Middle. Additionally, she enjoyed a successful career as a model and was crowned a pageant queen.
In previous interviews, the actress shared her excitement about her life in the U.S., expressing how the experience has been enriching. “Life in the United States is beautiful,” she said. “I left Nigeria to further my education and perhaps acquire more skills. So far, it’s been beautiful, and I’m glad I made the move.”
