Nigerian music superstar, Davido, has revealed his admiration for the United States of America, citing the country’s practice of true democracy as a major reason for his affection.
In a recent interview on The Morning Hustle, Davido explained that the USA’s democratic system is a far cry from what obtains in Nigeria. He stated that the country’s ability to conduct free and fair elections, as evident in the recent presidential election, is proof of its commitment to democracy.
The Grammy nominee also disclosed that he voted for Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party’s candidate, in the just-concluded presidential election. According to him, his desire to witness the first female president of America in his lifetime led him to cast his vote for Harris.
Davido commended the presidential election process, saying it showed that the people’s voices were heard. He also congratulated President-elect Donald Trump, stating that he sees nothing wrong in doing so, even if he were contesting against him.
