Nigerian rapper Ice Prince has opened up about his traumatic prison experience at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre in Lagos state.

The Oleku crooner spent six nights in prison after being arrested by the Lagos state police command on allegations of abduction and assault.

In a recent podcast appearance on Listen With Osi, Ice Prince shared the details of his ordeal, describing his time in prison as “unpleasant” and urging Nigerians to do everything in their power to avoid ending up behind bars.

The singer revealed that he did not receive any preferential treatment during his incarceration, stating, “There is no such thing as preferential treatment, it is prison.” He emphasized that his experience was a far cry from the brief stays in police stations or cells that some celebrities have bragged about.

Also, Ice Prince described prison and its experience as “a different world” and “an institution of higher learning” that he wouldn’t wish on his worst enemy. He cautioned fans to be careful, as even minor mistakes can lead to imprisonment.

Despite making friends with fellow inmates, Ice Prince reiterated that his experience was not a positive one, and he hopes that others can learn from his mistakes.

“If you’ve never been to prison, you ain’t seen shiii yet. It wasn’t a good experience”
