This December, the iconic on-air personality Yaw will join forces with the legendary Cool DJ Jimmy Jatt to present an unforgettable night of nostalgia and music. The Rewind ‘A Flashback’ Concert is set to take place on Monday, December 30th, 2024, at Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The star-studded concert will bring together some of Nigeria’s biggest music legends, including TuBaba, Daddy Showkey, 9ice, Style Plus, Duncan Mighty, Tony Tetuila, African China, Jazzman Olofin, and many more. The event promises to take the audience on a journey through the golden era of Afrobeat, celebrating the artists and sounds that defined Nigerian music.
In a remarkable turn of events, this concert also marks the return of Cool DJ Jimmy Jatt to the stage after recuperation. In 2021, the renowned DJ underwent a life-saving kidney transplant in Lagos, Nigeria, and spent time in the United States focusing on his health. His survival story has inspired many, as Jimmy Jatt became the second Nigerian celebrity to share his battle with kidney disease publicly. The Disc Jockey who began his career in 1984 would also seize the opportunity to celebrate 40 years in the entertainment world.
Reflecting on his health journey, Jimmy Jatt shared in a documentary shot at the medical facility where he was treated, “I want to be a face of the survival of kidney disease. I did not want to be a victim. I have been through it, and from now on, I will be very open to talking to people about it on any platform to let them know what it is like.”
