British rapper Skepta has praised Nigerian singer Portable, describing him as a breath of fresh air in the music industry.
Skepta’s comments came after the two collaborated on the song Tony Montana in 2023 and Portable received royalties from Skepta.
In a post on his X page, Skepta shared his admiration for Portable’s authenticity, stating that he had met many fake individuals in the industry, but Portable stood out as genuine. Skepta noted that while he may not engage in some of Portable’s controversial antics, he respects the energy and passion behind them.
Skepta praised Portable even though his praise was met with warnings from some fans, cautioning him about the singer’s volatile nature. However, Skepta dismissed these concerns, responding with a dismissive tweet.
The collaboration between Skepta and Portable on Tony Montana was a notable moment in their careers, with the song’s music video being shot in the UK.
