Ayo Animashaun, the founder of The Headies, has revealed an exciting new addition to the award show’s roster: The Headies Creative Summit.
Speaking at the announcement ceremony for the 17th edition of The Headies, Animashaun shared his vision for expanding the brand beyond the awards ceremony and into the world of creativity and innovation.
“We’ve done a lot in the U.S., and we can’t just leave it at that,” Animashaun explained, highlighting The Headies’ international impact. “If we have the awards in Nigeria, we should also have the Creative Summit in the U.S., Canada, or somewhere else. When we go abroad for the awards, we should also bring the summit here to Nigeria.”
Speaking at the event, Ijeoma Onah, the founder of said the Headies Creative Summit will explore the intersection of the music industry and the other verticals of the creative industry. These other verticals include but are not limited to film, animations, and theatre.
As we all know, we creatives are very passionate. What we want to do is bring the balance between creativity and business.
We believe strongly that if people are equipped with the right business knowledge, then they are able to build sustainable businesses in the creative industry and that is what the 1st edition of the Headies creative summit will be addressing, Ijeoma Onah said.
This move showcases The Headies’ commitment to fostering global collaboration and engaging the wider creative community.
Animashaun emphasized that the upcoming Creative Summit would bring together industry professionals, innovators, and creatives from around the world to discuss and explore the future of the music and entertainment industries.
“We’re going to run through what we have for the Creative Summit,” he added, teasing exciting plans to develop the summit as a key event alongside the awards show.
