Taken from her upcoming album M$RYLUV$CMPNY, Money Badoo’s latest offering “Heartbreak Hotel” is a poignant ’80s-inspired pop single, featuring Una Rams and produced by Select Play.
Portraying the emotional chaos of a toxic relationship, the track’s moody synths and nostalgia-tinged chorus-line paints a vivid picture of love’s darker side.
The titular refrain – “heartbreak hotel” – symbolises a place where the protagonist checks in repeatedly, unable to escape the destructive pull of their unrequited love.
The single is also accompanied by the release of an explosive music video for Badoo’s previous track “WAKE UP” featuring BabyDaiz and MashBeatz. Shot and directed by No.Ordinary.Human in Braamfontein, the vibrant heart of Johannesburg, this visual offering is a reflection of Money Badoo’s creative vision, blending bold visuals with her unique narrative style.
Directed to capture the raw energy that went into the recording of “WAKE UP”, the video further solidifies Money Badoo as a multi-dimensional artist who seamlessly blends music, fashion and storytelling.
Money Badoo’s forthcoming album M$RYLUV$CMPNY is already shaping up to be one of 2025’s hottest releases, a 12-track project showcasing the powerful evolution of her intense artistry.
