This electrifying new single has been released under his independent record label, Giran Republic.
In Asake’s single “Uhmm Yeah” from his third studio album Lungu Boy, he declared, “Emi President Giran Republic, everyday na me be their topic. Now, he has his independent record label called ‘Giran Republic’.
The song is a captivating 3-minute masterpiece that delves into his artistry and has been expertly produced by the talented Magicsticks, who has produced hits like DJ Neptune’s “Nobody,” Young Jonn’s “Aquafina,” and Tiwa Savage’s “Stamina.
“Why Love” features a sound that is clearly reminiscent of the popular amapiano sound, but it manages to infuse this familiar sound with a softer and more romantic edge that makes it unique. Asake’s smooth, laid-back vocal delivery effortlessly weaves Yoruba and English together, successfully creating a heartfelt narrative that explores themes of love and admiration. With considerate lyrics like “Obirin to ba fe’ru mi, consider lucky”, He described himself as a catch, saying any woman would be lucky to have him as her partner.
