The Super Eagles of Nigeria took a giant step in their quest to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup following their impressive victory over Rwanda.
Galatasaray forward player, Victor Osimhen ensured that the Super Eagles of Nigeria started the game like a house on fire as he scored a brace against Rwanda in the first half. There were half-chances for the host but none was able to find the back of the net.

Nigeria came into the game without history on their side against Rwanda as they have not been able to score a goal against their hosts since 2006. The game ended 1-1 between both sides, Obafemi Martins scored the only goal for Nigeria.
The second half was pretty much like the first as the Super Eagles dominated possession without giving any chance to Rwanda in the game..This result will be a moral booster for Nigeria as they host Zimbabwe in another must-win match that will be played in Uyo on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
Nigeria currently sit in fourth place with 6 points behind South Africa, Benin, Rwanda who occupy first to third place respectively.
