His mother firmly opposed the agreement, asserting that the ₦150,000 she had invested to help him start his studio was of greater value than the proposed sum, emphasizing the importance of patience and divine alignment.
To prevent Edwards from proceeding with the deal, she went as far as confiscating his international passport, ensuring he couldn’t travel to finalize the arrangement. Reflecting on the actions of his mother, Frank Edwards admitted he initially struggled to understand her perspective, questioning how her modest investment could outweigh the substantial offer.
Now, with the benefit of hindsight, Edwards acknowledges the wisdom in his mother’s counsel.
