Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has added another accolade to his growing list of achievements, receiving the 2024 Artist of the Year award from Leadership Newspaper.
The recognition follows a landmark year for the hip-hop sensation, whose commercial success and unique sound have cemented his place as one of Africa’s leading rap acts.
Odumodublvck attended the Leadership Newspaper award ceremony with his mother and members of his Anti-World Gangster collective, who collaborated with him on a joint album in 2024. The award also comes on the heels of his latest surprise release, The Machine Is Coming, a 16-track mixtape featuring Victony, Shallipopi, Rondodasosa, BOJ, and others.
The project includes the hit single Pity This Boy with Victony, which has already amassed over 17 million streams on Spotify. It serves as a prelude to his forthcoming studio album Industry Machine.
Odumodublvck’s breakout came in 2023 with the release of Eziokwu, which produced viral hits such as Declan Rice, Blood On The Dance Floor, Wotowoto Seasoning, and Dog Eat Dog II.
His meteoric rise has attracted praise from international hip-hop icons like Rick Ross, Skepta, and Stormzy. As 2025 unfolds, the rapper has continued his momentum with eight nominations at the upcoming 17th Headies Awards, including categories like Next Rated, Rap Album of the Year, and Rap Song of the Year.
