
Manchester United are reportedly getting closer to reaching an agreement with Wolves forward Matheus Cunha ahead of the 2025 summer transfer window.
Transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on his official X account on Monday, April 21, 2025. According to reports, Manchester United will need to activate the Brazilian’s £62.5million release clause but are hopeful of agreeing terms next month ( May 2025) while they still have to deal with the Profit and Sustainability Rules.
Manchester United head coach, Ruben Amorim has been a huge admiration for Matheus Cunha who has been a huge part of Wolves goals contribution this season. The United manager was also spotted in conversation with Cunha after United and Wolves met at Molineux and again in the tunnel at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The Red Devils also hope to sign Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap but face increasing competition for his signature as Chelsea and others consider activating his £30m release clause.
Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, Red Bull Leipzig’s Xavi Simons and Benjamin Sesko, Eberechi Eze of Crystal Palace and Antoine Semenyo of Bournemouth are all part of that United are looking to bring over to the club next summer.
