
Former Chelsea player, Jorginho is reportedly set to leave Arsenal Football club at the end of this current season.
Transfer news expert, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the Gunners are not interested in renewing Jorginho’s contract at the club after two years. According to reports, the midfielder could most likely join Flamengo as against the reports linking him with a move to Saudi Arabia.
The 33-year-old Italian joined the Gunners in January 2023 on an 18-month deal from Stamford Bridge and will become a free agent at the end of the ongoing season. Jorginho has become surplus to requirements at the Emirates following the fantastic form of Declan Rice who also joined from West Ham United.
Why did Jorginho leave Chelsea?
Jorginho recently revealed in an interview that his decision to leave Chelsea was because he felt his time was up ar the club and he felt left out of the club’s project.
“It was in the last two days of the window closing, and then I saw that my time at Chelsea there was basically finished there. For the project there, I didn’t feel part of the project anymore and sometimes you just need to accept and move on.”
How many trophies has Jorginho won?
He won the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa before joining Chelsea in 2018, where he won the Europa League, Champions League, European Super Cup and World Club Cup.
Jorginho has been an integral part of the Arsenal team both on and off the pitch showing his leadership skills to the younger players.
