Real Madrid quest to win the Spanish La Liga this season suffered a major blow after it confirmed that one of its defenders, Antonio Rudiger is injured.
Real Madrid announced the news concerning the injury to Antonio Rudiger on its official website on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. According to reports from Spain, the German international is expected to underwent a knee surgery which will rule him out of action for at least two months.
Rudiger has been under the spot light for some days following his actions during the Copa Del Rey final against FC Barcelona and was expected to receive a considerable ban for his actions. However, this surgery will anyway keep him off the football field for quite some time.

Rudiger’s surgery adds him to an already long list of Eder Militao, Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy, all of whom are already sidelined for a long time.
Rudiger’s absence will have an effect a big blow to the team in this time of the season where they will be fighting for the league title; which remains to be the only trophy for which Real Madrid are still in contention. They are currently in second place behind table-toppers Barcelona who have a four-point lead.
