Afrobeat singer and activist Seun Kuti has revealed a frightening experience during his stay in the United States, after a stray bullet struck the window of his hotel room.
The musician took to Instagram to share a video of the incident, expressing shock and disbelief over the unexpected danger.
In the video shot in the United States, Seun Kuti could be heard reacting to the moment. He said, “Tell me you’re in America without telling me you’re in America. I’m in my hotel room just chilling and boom.” The clip displayed a visible bullet hole in the window, indicating just how close the bullet came to causing serious harm.
Visibly rattled, the singer used the incident to question the long-held image of the West as a place of safety and order. In the caption of his post, he wrote, “I read somewhere that these are the civilized people.”
The post quickly drew reactions from concerned fans and followers, many of whom expressed relief that he was unharmed. Seun, known for his fearless activism and outspoken views, did not reveal the exact location of the incident. However, he reassured his supporters that he was safe.
