Nigerian Afrobeats superstars Kizz Daniel and Timaya are set to light up Kigali this July as headliners for the highly anticipated Giants of Africa Festival 2025 Closing Concert.

The festival, which returns to Rwanda’s capital from July 26 to August 2, 2025, will feature the two hitmakers as part of an electrifying lineup celebrating African music, sports, and youth empowerment.

Known for his chart-topping hits and dynamic performances, Kizz Daniel will take center stage alongside dancehall heavyweight Timaya, bringing their signature sounds to a weeklong event that unites the continent’s rising stars. Their performance will be the grand finale of the festival, which expects over 20,000 spectators and 320 youth athletes from 20 African countries.

The Giants of Africa Festival, founded by Masai Ujiri, Vice-Chairman and President of the Toronto Raptors, has grown into one of Africa’s premier youth development initiatives. Beyond basketball, it has become a cultural movement, merging sports, music, fashion, and education. This year’s festival will open with performances from South African DJ sensation Uncle Waffles, award-winning choreographer Sherrie Silver, and Rwandan singer Kevin Kade.

In addition to the all-star concerts, the festival will feature youth basketball tournaments, leadership programs, and the unveiling of Zaria Court, a new mixed-use sports and entertainment district founded by Ujiri. Attendees can also look forward to the Threads of Africa Fashion Show, spotlighting contemporary African designers from Cameroon, Niger, Rwanda, and South Africa.

Since its inception in 2003, Giants of Africa has empowered young Africans through basketball camps and court-building projects across 20 countries. The 2023 edition saw over 14,000 attendees and injected an estimated $1.5 million into Kigali’s local economy, a legacy the 2025 festival aims to surpass.

With the star power of Kizz Daniel and Timaya, Giants of Africa Festival 2025 is primed to be a thrilling celebration of African talent and unity, reinforcing the growing influence of Afrobeats and African culture on the global stage.
