Cindy-Louise opts for a more stripped-down approach on her latest single “Follow You” — but does it pay off?
It’s a clean, accessible track that could find a home on any adult contemporary or easy listening radio. But ultimately, it feels a little dated. Her vocal talent is undeniable, but the song lacks the spark needed to stand out.
Compared to her previous release, “Sandman,” which embraced a more modern, ethereal sound, “Follow You” feels like a step backward. Still, there’s heart in this track, delivering a sincere love story with a groovy bassline that keeps things light and catchy.
The accompanying music video sees Cindy-Louise dancing and getting ready. The visuals inject some much-needed liveliness into the overall experience, whilst the synergy between the visual’s playful tone and the song’s breezy groove work well, as she prepares to impress a potential suitor.
Overall, “Follow You” is a charming effort that shows off Cindy-Louise’s vocal strengths, but it lacks the boldness or innovation to leave a lasting impression.
