Popular Nigerian singer and one half of P-Square, Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P, has broken his silence over the ongoing family feud and fraud allegations involving his brothers, Paul Okoye and Jude Okoye.

In a series of emotionally charged posts on X, the music star announced that he has officially severed all ties with them.

The outburst came after a fan appealed to Peter to reconcile with his family, urging him to remember that “family is all that matters.” In a swift and unapologetic response, Peter declared that their relationship was beyond repair, stating, “We are no longer family at this point. Family is blood-related, but the real family is loyalty. Don’t let family be the reason you’re drowning in silence. I did for over 20 years, and it almost cost me everything.”

He further added, “Love doesn’t manipulate, loyalty doesn’t betray, and family does not steal from you. If it costs my mental health, then it’s too expensive! #iDisOwnThem.”

The singer’s explosive comments follow recent legal proceedings in which Jude Okoye’s lawyer accused Peter of providing false information about his finances and academic history during an investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Reacting to the claims, Peter Okoye alleged that his family’s publicist was trying to tarnish his image, writing, “I’m not MayD or Cynthia Morgan. I am PETER OKOYE. The one and only THE ROCK of the Okoyes. The truth shall prevail.”

In a touching follow-up, Peter revealed that the tragic death of rapper Mohbad last year made him vow never to remain silent in the face of betrayal again. “After watching everything about Mohbad’s death and how it played out, I decided I would never play the bigger person again. Love me or hate me, I will keep speaking my truth.”

The singer’s revelations have since stirred intense reactions online, with fans expressing shock, support, and mixed opinions over the highly publicized fallout within one of Afrobeats’ most iconic families.

We are no longer family at this point! Family is blood related, but the real family is loyalty…. Like I said before! “Don’t let family be the reason you’re drowning in silence. I did – for over 20 years. And it almost cost me everything. But now I know better – love doesn’t… https://t.co/YtE82ir77J
