“Beat selection is such an underrated skill, especially in commercial hip hop nowadays,” A-Reece posted, igniting a thread of passionate responses from fans. One user brought up Rich The Kid, saying, “A nigga who is slept on when it comes to beat selection is Rich The Kid. Especially with The World Is Yours.”

To the surprise of many, Reece responded: “My fav Rich The Kid album right there. Fun fact: That album and Trippie Redd’s ‘Bust Down’ from A Love Letter To You 2 is what inspired ‘Collec’ Call.’”

Originally released during the height of the Wrecking Crew era, “Collec’ Call” is a reflective anthem produced by MashBeatz and features A-Reece and Ecco trading verses over moody, atmospheric production. The song became a fan favourite for its introspective tone and emotional weight, but little was known about the creative backdrop until now.

Drawing inspiration from The World Is Yours, known for its slick, melodic trap beats, and Trippie Redd’s Bust Down, a raw and emotive standout, A-Reece’s approach to “Collec’ Call” becomes clearer in hindsight. The blend of commercial appeal with underground sentiment is something fans have long associated with the TWC sound, but few expected Rich The Kid or Trippie Redd to be part of that equation.
