Latti Patterson is proud to announce the release of her latest single, “Go Ahead And Do Your Thing.” This original track is a powerful anthem of self-acceptance and authenticity, especially for women everywhere. Drawing inspiration from musical icons such as Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, and Olivia Rodrigo, Latti delivers a fresh and uplifting message that encourages listeners to embrace their true selves and break free from society’s expectations.

“Go Ahead And Do Your Thing” was born out of Latti’s journey of self-reflection and personal growth. After experiencing a spiritual awakening, Latti realised she had spent much of her life comparing herself to others and trying to fit in. This realisation inspired her to write a song that would help others, especially women, to stop wasting time trying to please everyone else and instead express themselves authentically.

In her own words, “I wrote this song specifically for all the ladies out there to encourage them to stop wasting their time trying to fit in and just ‘Do their own thing’ and express themselves authentically. Especially during a time today where social media has a tendency to pressure us into thinking we aren’t enough as we are.”

The track stands out with its positive, energising sound and empowering lyrics. Latti’s mantra, “Do what feels right and trust your gut,” is woven throughout the song, reflecting her path as an artist. “As an ex-people pleaser, I used to fall into the traps of going along with whatever other people thought I should do, say, or be. Now that I know who I am, and what I value, and what I enjoy, I can now trust my gut and know that it’ll never fail me,” Latti shares.

What makes “Go Ahead And Do Your Thing” even more special is that Latti took full creative control over every aspect of the song. She wrote, recorded, mixed, and produced all elements herself, using the music production skills she learned over the past year. The entire track was crafted in her home, in a spare bedroom that doubles as both a music room and a cat room.

Latti’s attention to detail shines through in the song’s dynamic and vibrant sound. She started by programming the drum track on her iPad, then moved to her Mac to finish the production. The kick drum was the first element she heard in her head, even before the melody. She then layered bass using a MIDI keyboard, played live acoustic guitar, and added her favourite synth keyboards with syncopated rhythms. Additional panning techniques were used to create movement and excitement in the mix.

“Go Ahead And Do Your Thing” is now available on all major streaming platforms:open.spotify.com/track/2ThL
