Multiple reports are claiming that Kayode Peters, the University of Lagos graduate who worked as a stage actor, comedian, show runner, and serial entrepreneur, making a name for himself and earning international acclaim, before relocating to Canada, has passed on.
Nigerian Entertainment Today can not yet independently confirm this, and three colleagues who spoke with our editors declined to comment.
Yet, several Nigerian newspapers and blogs, including People’s Gazette and Zebra News, are reporting that Peters, who would have clocked 50 in September 2025, has passed.
Comedian Tee A told Netng he could not comment as he did not yet have any information. One of Peter’s closest friends and frequent collaborators, Basketmouth, was not available to comment, according to an assistant who spoke with Netng. Steve ‘Yaw’ Onu, who was quoted by a Nigerian newspaper as having confirmed his friend’s passing, did not pick up or return calls.
This is a developing story.
