Tems Launches The Leading Vibe Initiative to Empower Women in Music Across Africa

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer-songwriter Tems is taking her influence beyond the stage with the launch of The Leading Vibe Initiative, a groundbreaking platform designed to support, empower, and amplify women in music across Africa.

Announced earlier this week, the initiative kicks off in Lagos this August, marking a significant step in Tems’ ongoing mission to change the narrative for women in the African music industry. Known for her soulful voice, fearless authenticity, and boundary-breaking success, Tems is now using her platform to create space for other women to thrive.

The Leading Vibe Initiative will serve as a hub for mentorship, education, creative collaboration, and visibility, with a focus on both emerging and mid-level women artists, producers, songwriters, and music executives. Through workshops, curated sessions, and artist development programs, the platform aims to bridge gender gaps and foster long-term growth for African women in music.

The first event is expected to feature panels, performances, and intimate sessions with leading women in the industry, as well as access to creative resources and networking opportunities. With Lagos as its launchpad, Tems and her team hope to expand the initiative to other major cities across Africa in the near future.

This move not only solidifies Tems as one of Africa’s most impactful music exports but also as a changemaker committed to reshaping the industry from within. As her star continues to rise globally, she’s making sure she brings others with her.
