Sky Sports news confirmed the story of the midfielder leaving Bayer Leverkusen on its official X account on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. According to the reports, the German club are willing to let go of Granit Xhaka despite having three years left on his current contract.
The Swiss international left Arsenal during the 2023 summer transfer window to join Bayer Leverkusen winning the Bundesliga title by knocking off Bayern Munich. He was instrumental to Xabi Alonso during the 2023/24 Bundesliga season which saw them win the league that season.
