
Official start date for the highly anticipated WAFCON 2026 has been confirmed in an official announcement made by CAF.
Just weeks after the conclusion of the 2024 tournament, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially revealed the schedule for the next Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Nigeria’s Super Falcons emerged as champions in the 2024 edition held in Morocco, edging the hosts 3-2 in a thrilling final. CAF has now confirmed that the 14th edition of WAFCON will once again take place in Morocco, from March 17 to April 3, 2026.
The final round of qualification matches is set for October 2025, with Nigeria slated to play against Benin.
Notably, the top four teams in the 2026 tournament will earn automatic spots in the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
