In a heartfelt statement on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, Adekunle Gold acknowledged the emotional impact of meeting children and families affected by sickle cell during a recent encounter. He commended organizations such as Sami update and Sickle Cell Foundation NG for their dedicated efforts in addressing the challenges faced by those living with the condition.

As Adekunle Gold continues to raise awareness and advocate for those affected by sickle cell disease, his actions serve as a beacon of hope for individuals and families confronting similar challenges.

It took me years to finally be able to share publicly that I was born with Sickle Cell. Over the last 2 years I have spoken about this disease during my performances but I realise that more needs to be done.
