Nigerians now have a glimpse of how the Super Eagles of Nigeria will lineup following the recent pre-match press conference held by the head coach Jose Peseiro ahead of their must-win fixture against Ivory Coast at AFCON 2023 scheduled for Thursday, January 18, 2024.

The pre-match press conference ahead of Nigeria vs Ivory Coast took place today, Wednesday, January 17, 2024, with the Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro and captain William Troost-Ekong present to debrief members of the press on how well the team is preparing for their must-win fixture at AFCON 2023 which can make or mar their entire #LetsDoItAgain campaign.

Players available for Nigeria ahead of Ivory Coast AFCON 2023 match?

Jose Peseiro confirmed that the squad has received a huge boost in terms of player availability ahead of the fixture with top stars Kelechi Iheanacho and Terem Moffi both fit and available for selection in the game.

He also confirmed that the rest of the squad are also available ahead of the fixture but one important player will not be available for selection for Nigeria ahead of the Thursday fixture against Ivory Coast in the tournament.

Players that will miss Nigeria vs Ivory Coast tomorrow

Jose Peseiro also confirmed that the initial worries surrounding Alhassan Yusuf’s match fitness ahead of the other games in the tournament are valid and that the team has however received good news which indicates that he should be available for other games.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria however will have to The Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) at AFCON 2023 without Alhassan Yusuf as he will not be available for selection for the team tomorrow. This is a huge blow for the team as the young player’s impact was felt from the get go in the first game of the tournament for Nigeria.
