The 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations which is being hosted in Cote d’Ivoire has reached the second round phase with 16 teams advancing to the knockout stage of the tournament out of the 24 teams that started the competition.
Cape Verde and Equatorial Guinea are the teams that shocked the football world as they both finished top in their respective groups. However, the exit of the Black Stars of Ghana shocked the football community especially the way they throw the ticket away against Mozambique.
The exit of Algeria also came as a shock following the fact that they were champions in 2019, one would have expected them to at least book a spot in the competition’s round of 16.
