Following the successful completion of AFCON 2023, the date of the draw for the 2025 edition scheduled to take place in Morocco has been confirmed.
In an official announcement the football governing body for Africa, CAF, confirmed the official date for the draw of the preliminary round of AFCON 2025 scheduled to take place in Morocco in the coming year.
The football governing body announced that the draw will be done on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 12:00 GMT in Cairo, Egypt.
The preliminary round of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 will feature the eight lowest-ranked teams according to the FIFA ranking: Somalia, Djibouti, Sao Tome, Chad, Mauritius, South Sudan, Liberia, and Eswatini.
These matches will be played on a home-and-away basis during the FIFA Window of 18-26 March 2024. Following these fixtures, the four winners of the preliminary round will advance to join the 44 exempted teams in the group stage of the tournament.
