Akon, known for his hit single Lonely, expressed his admiration for Afrobeats artists, singling out Burna Boy as a “beast” on the global music scene. He praised Burna Boy’s unique blend of Nigerian and Ghanaian sounds, crediting him for setting himself apart from other artists. Akon also acknowledged his own influence on Burna Boy’s career, thanking the former head of international at Konvict Music for shaping the artist’s path.
Regarding Wizkid, Akon described him as a superstar who releases one hit song a year that remains relevant throughout. For Davido, Akon commended his hard work and dedication to his craft. However, he also noted that Davido’s wealthy family background helped launch his career, and that he initially sought to emulate Wizkid’s success. Akon praised Davido’s perseverance, saying he continued to produce good songs and videos, ultimately earning recognition in the industry.
Interestingly, Akon claimed that Davido has the most songs among his peers, although he acknowledged that quality may not always match quantity. The music icon also gave a shout-out to Mr. Eazi, applauding his business acumen and ability to successfully combine music and entrepreneurship.
